Frequently Asked Questions
What if I find it difficult to talk about my feelings?
That's okay. Many people begin counselling unsure of what to say. We can work at a pace that feels comfortable for you. There are also creative methods of counselling, sometimes it is easier for clients to use the written word or drawing their feelings on paper. We can also use emotion cards which can support clients to identify feelings they cannot describe.
Are sessions confidential?
Confidentiality is a fundamental part of counselling. Any limitations to confidentiality will be discussed clearly at the beginning of our work together.
Do I need a diagnosis to access neurodiversity-affirming counselling?
No. Many people seek counselling while exploring whether they may be neurodivergent. A formal diagnosis is not required.
Do you work with young people?
Yes. I work with both adults and young people aged 18-25. I do not work with children.
Do you work with LGBTQI+ clients
Yes. I welcome clients from the LGBTQIA+ community and endeavour to provide a counselling relationship where you feel respected, understood, and accepted for who you are.
