LGBTQIA+ Affirming Counselling
I welcome and support people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and relationship styles.
For many LGBTQIA+ individuals, experiences of misunderstanding, discrimination, rejection, or the pressure to hide aspects of themselves can have a significant impact on emotional wellbeing. Counselling can provide a space where you are able to explore your experiences openly and authentically, without fear of judgement.
Whether you are questioning your identity, navigating relationships, exploring gender or sexuality, processing the impact of past experiences, or seeking support for issues unrelated to being LGBTQIA+, you will be met with respect, empathy, and acceptance.
My practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming, meaning I recognise and value the diversity of human experiences and identities. I am committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where you can bring your whole self to therapy.
Neurodiversity-Affirming Counselling
A Space Where You Don't Need to Mask
Many neurodivergent people spend years feeling different, misunderstood, or pressured to fit into environments that were not designed with their needs in mind. Clients often share how they feel ‘too much’ or ‘not enough’ within their interpersonal relationships.
You may have received a diagnosis of ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia, or another neurodivergent condition. You may also be questioning whether neurodiversity could explain some of your experiences.
Counselling can offer a space to:
- Explore your identity and experiences
- Understand the impact of masking
- Build self-acceptance and self-compassion
- Navigate relationships and communication challenges
- Manage anxiety, overwhelm, and burnout
- Process experiences of feeling different or misunderstood
My approach is neurodiversity-affirming, recognising that neurodivergence is not something that needs to be fixed, but understood and supported.
Trauma-Informed Counselling
Past experiences can continue to affect how we think, feel, relate to others, and move through everyday life. Sometimes the impact of trauma can show up as anxiety, low self-esteem, difficulties in relationships, emotional overwhelm, or a feeling of being stuck.
As a person-centred counsellor, I recognise that healing looks different for everyone, and I will never ask you to share more than you feel comfortable with. My aim is to create a therapeutic relationship in which you feel accepted, valued, and safe to explore whatever may be happening in your life
Together, we can work towards understanding the impact of your experiences, developing self-compassion, and supporting your journey towards greater emotional wellbeing and resilience.
